satellite tv bandwidth
is there bandwidth limit for wave based or satellite based transmission?
Hi All,
satellite based transmission have no bandwidth limit ( you can ‘n’ number radios/tvs) can grab them….really is there any saturation point (bandwidth limit) for this wave based transmissions ?
“Bandwidth” is a misunderstood concept. It is not related to the number of receivers that are able to receive the information; but rather to the density of information that can be transmitted. When information is transmitted by waves, the information density is limited by the width of the “band” of wave frequencies used (i.e., the difference between the highest and lowest frequencies used); and that’s how the word came about. Subsequently it came to stand for information transmission density (bits per second) in general. But in any case, it means how much information per second will “fit” in the transmission “pipe,” and not how many people can receive the broadcast.
