What should I get my dad for Father’s day (that’s not cliche)?
my dad’s not into tools and is not a huge sports fan. he doesn’t really show what he really wants. he did mention that he wanted sirius satellite radio but that’s a little complicated so do u have any other suggestions?
something unique please.
no camera, tv, digital photos frame, iPod, video games, or gps. he’s not into that type of stuff and already has some of those.
Okay this depends how old you are but have if you are leaving the house or about to have some other family transition(new baby, graduate HS or college or move out), then an album of pictures can be a great way for you too to spend time talking about great times you shared.
IF your dad isn’t the talking type, maybe you could just spend the day doing his favorite things. This could be anything from golfing(even if you suck), fishing(even if you hate it) or a movie that he loves. What does he do the most? My dad used to watch tv all the time so we got him a DVR. He goes to the movies so we got a gift certificate and a giftcard to cover the movie and snacks. He loves to travel so we got him a gas card for day trips and maps of his state. My husband likes biking to work, I got him comfy petals so he can wear his combat boots and not slip off. Get his car washed so he doesn’t have to do it. Cook him dinner if he cooks for you. Buy him groceries if he is on a budget(MY MOM LOVES THIS ONE BECAUSE IT IS USEFUL INSTEAD OF FLOWERS). Does he do crosswords, get him a years worth of New York Times Sunday Edition with the hard crosswords. What store is he always going to? Walmart, Target and Kmart are great because they have almost anything and everything. Is there a tv show you used to watch together, alot of shows are coming out with collectors editions of episodes now…seinfield, simpsons, family guy, fresh prince…you know what i mean.
Try some of these, sometimes it is just thinking of the thing he complains about not getting done…the broken garage door, the laundry all over your room, the pile of crap next to the door going away, his car getting cleaned, a break on gas prices, grocery bill or electric bill too high, the grass and yard getting maintained, or a charity he believes in getting some money donated on behalf of him…and finally doing it.

If you go from satellite to receiver with coaxial cable, why component video to TV (and not coax)? Seems you can’t get better quality output than you input.
The signal comes into the box via coax, but the box itself has video converters built into it that transmits the signal at different resolution outputs.
If you have an HD Satellite box, and an HD TV, you will want to connect them via an HDMI or Component video cable due to the resolution capabilities of them over other connections.
If your TV doesn’t have HDMI or component, then S-Video is the next step down, followed by composite, then coaxial cable.

At&t will usually sell at full retail, since it is in a sense the producers and probably sells the phone to radio shack. It’s like this if you have a product and you have it mass produced you sell it to stores for $5 and it retails for $10. How many stores will sell the product if you sell it $6 and the only way they can compete is to sell it for $5.50 making only .50 cents per sale, and they have to pay all there bills, very few will sell the product. So instead you sell it at your store for $10, and wholesale it to other stores for $5.00 (so your product gets more exposure , because it is in more stores), they sell it below retail suggested price at $9., you will sell a few in your store, but the other stores will sell more, make them happy and they keep putting your product in their store, so it’s kinda a win win for att&t, they sell more products (some with a lower profit, the ones they sold wholesale to other stores), and then the ones they sell in their store. If you look up most major companies web sites (dell, hp, western digital, etc.) that sell their own product it will alsways be at full retail, and if you go to walmart, etc it will always be cheaper for the reason stated above.Hope it helps.
