I want to splice an internet cable?
My ISP is comcast, i have cable internet. I want to splice the cable right before it reaches the modem so i can have actual tv cable to hook up to my new plasma tv. The cable coming out of the box is an rg6 but i believe the cable which is run inside the wall is an rg59. Will I be able to splice it while having a functional internet. For a splicer i purchased a DBS Video Diplexer which splices into two ends one 950-2050MHZ(satellite) and the other 40-862 MHZ (Antenna). I also plan on using an inline digital amp which will be used on the antenna side for the tv. Thanks
yes you can. that’s exactly what i did in our office. i have the cable splitter so that one goes to the tv and the other goes to my modem.
